I did a 2-day rental from The Sweet Spot for The Slinger ball machine. The whole rental process - from ordering on the website to using The Slinger to dropping it off - was so simple, smooth, and fun! Ordering & Communication The website is very easy to navigate and the communication was excellent. The instructions for picking up and dropping off were very clear. They also had plenty of signage so there was no confusion about location. The Slinger Ball Machine I absolutely loved using The Slinger Ball Machine! It is very easy to set-up and use. There are a variety of settings (speed, spin, angle) depending on what shots you want to practice. The Sweet Spot created a genius user guide that made it easy to set-up and even easier to use. I tried out all of the different settings and loved being able to get my reps in. Everything from dinks, drops, resets, blocks, drives, and serve returns. It’s fun to be able to practice both my forehand and backhand. I’ve been practicing my two handed backhand (twoey!!!!) and The Slinger was the perfect way to do this. I used it twice during my 2-day rental period. Once with my husband and once solo. There are so many different routines that you can do with The Slinger. I was able to work on my footwork at the kitchen line and transitions from the baseline to the kitchen line. It was great to use solo. It was also great to use with a partner. I can also see it being a great tool with a small group. I can’t say enough good things about The Slinger. Now I want to get one for myself! The Slinger has a 92-ball capacity, which was great for drilling. You can really make it into a workout. It includes two ball collector tubes (each tube fits 18 balls). When I used it solo, collecting all the balls was a breeze and only took 3-4 minutes. I probably could have done it faster if I was hustling. I’ve tested out one other ball machine, Spinshot Player Pickleball Machine. The main perk was that it had a ton of settings and up to 12 programmed drills. The downside is that the learning curve seemed steep. Everything was trial and error. The cost of this machine is also more than 3x the cost of The Slinger (another major downside). I’ve been thinking about investing in a ball machine and have been looking into The Slinger for several months now. I’m so grateful for The Sweet Spot for offering affordable pickleball equipment rental services. A ball machine is definitely something that I would need to test out before purchasing.
